INDIA, ASSAM, BODO
The Bodo people of Assam, India are one of several tribal communities that have existed for centuries in the jungle areas of this region.
Incredibly, the gospel has taken root and the church has instinctively offered their own cultural worship, likely because they have been hidden off from the rest of the world and its media influences.

MONGOLIA, CONTEMPORARY TRADITIONAL BLEND
This new song composition is based upon Psalm 100 and incorporates a blending of traditional Mongolian throat singing and contemporary guitar instrumentation and song style.
Notice that the throat singing uses not only the deep drone tones of the voice but also at times moves into higher vocal harmonics.
Although throat singing is common among Buddhist monks as well as Mongolian life, it is wonderful to see that this stylistic approach is also useful and meaningful in Christian devotional expression even though it will likely not be introduced into corporate worship.

MALAWI AFRICA, YAO
The Yao People of Malawi have close associations with Islam and represent the least reached people in Malawi. Nonetheless a small church has emerged and is learning to worship God in their own cultural forms.
This lively and celebrative song is a good representative of their music, dance, and drumming. The title is "Kwana Ambuje Kwinani", which translated means "God Is In The Heavens".

SOUNDS OF GLOBAL WORSHIP:
MONGOLIA, CONTEMPORARY
One of the earliest churches to compose their own songs in Mongolia is represented in this video. As one of the first churches to be powerfully established in the country they have had great impact within Mongolia and to the Mongolian disapora scattered beyond their borders.
One of Mongolia's premier Christian composers, Ganchimeg Feodor, is from this church and wrote this song as a prayer for her country. It is widely sung and used.
This represents a contemporary style, but they also very much value their Mongolian cultural roots and often blend indigenous instruments and dance in their worship celebrations.

MONGOLIA, THE STORY
The church in Mongolia is very young. Since there was no history of Christian music, the worship that Heart Sounds International found upon its arrival was almost entirely western translated songs.
After several projects, including songwriting workshops and recordings, the church had composed almost 80 songs birthed from their own heart.
It is a delight to now find the Mongolian Christians offering worship to the Lord which only they can uniquely create.

HIMALAYAS, LEPCHA
High and deep into the Himalaya Mountains we were introduced to the Lepcha people. The Lepchas, who live in a place found only on God's map, are a beautiful people.
Because they live in one of the loveliest spots of God's creation it is no wonder that they compose songs that express their love of a God who is over all of creation. Such is this song.
The instruments are indigenous to the Lepcha people and date back to very ancient of times. They are all hand crafted.

SOUTH AFRICA - SHANGAAN LANGUAGE
Heart Sounds International is privileged to have recorded five of the seven black languages of South Africa. This song is in Shangaan.
The Moshakga Christian Assembly regularly includes "items" in their worship services. In the United States we would call this "special" music. The women are offering this song as an item.
You will notice the occasional ululation, which is spontaneous praise accomplished through the use of the voice and tongue.
The song title and lyric are offered below.
I SIKULU
God Is Great
My God is great
He deserves to be praised.
I praise Him with singing.
I praise Him with clapping.
I praise Him with dancing.
My God is great.
