IMF's mission is to get Cherlotov out before his government discovers what he's achieved. His wife Karen (Mala Powers) has already defected, and the plan was for him to follow, however, when Rollin, disguised as an East German official on a training course, approaches Cherlotov, he proves reluctant to leave.
