In 1989/90 Paul Weller and Dr Robert were producing this sh*t. The Style Council's final album "Modernism" was rejected by Polydor, but MCA released, 1 year later, an album of similar house compositions by Weller/Howard/Lee and Talbot for Dee C.Lee (under the name of Slam Slam). "Something Ain't Right" was written by Paul Weller and released as a Slam Slam single in 1990. Not my cup of tea, but this video is very rare. Enjoy (and dance!) the cap

recorded live at the beat fest verona, with some nice models dancing. shame about some "special effects" of the video, not mike's fault though, but something having to do with the camera set.

From the unfamous Johnny Hallyday session, late 1968, just before the split. Our fave band was booked by the French rocker and Steve took his friend (and future Pie) Peter Frampton with him. Amen is "That Man", here, for the first time ever, without the intrusive :) and annoying Hallyday's vocals.

"Go Up!" the title track of Mike Painter's debut solo album, later released as a limited 7" vinyl single by SGR, was licensed to Kronos Sport for a TV adv, distributed to the major italian national channels and some european tvs too.
Kronos did two 30-sec spots using the instrumental part of the song, here they are together, followed by a short backstage film published by GQ magazine .
This version of "Go Up!" is the original "rough mix" demo, the singer/speaker is Dr.Soul with some help on shouts, whistles and hisses your Captain (me :o))

if you don't know what's the meaning of cool...well..this is COOL. Jimmy Smith on the Jazz Scene in 1962, presented by Oscar Brown Jr. If you wish to see the full performances of the songs they are available thru another Youtube member, this is just sorta sampler of the half n hour long show cos I wanted to include the intro, the host's comments and the final. Everything here is cool. music is class, JOS is king, the musician are top, the opening images are cool, and the simple fonts used too. Enjoy the cap

the "video" of the song doesn't exist, so this is another quick experiment of me, sorta cartoon with a customized collection of gif saved from meez.com.
I think some parts suit the song and are funny...

A talented singer, songwriter and bass player, first burst onto the music scene with the British soul band Central Line (formed in London, 1978).
In 1986, he formed his own group Hindsight, then turned to solo recording after the break up of Hindsight and became a much sought after session singer / bassist.
He has worked alongside Acid Jazz's Chris Bangs and has played bass for The Style Council (and later, with various Paul Weller solo lineup)
In 1996, Camelle recorded 'Soul Degrees', which was released on Victor Records in Japan. The album contained the much sought after track 'Sausolito Calling' (Mick Talbot ex TSC plays piano and keys on this track).
In 1999, he was signed to Expansion Records for one CD, 'Vibes Alive'. Receiving extensive airplay, the set included some tracks from 'Soul Degrees' (including 'Sausolito Calling') as well as a fine version of 'Closer To The Source', the old Leroy Hutson tune.
Still recording and still in touch with his old colleagues from Light Of The Worlds, Camelle lives in North London.
