Rock climbing is a sport of strength, stamina and concentration. Can you cut it on the cliffs along the lake? Can you hold your own on the bluffs along the river? There are many places in Minnesota to test your "grit". Check it and see. Reach for new heights. Have fun "getting high!"

WOW!!! This is a sport for those who like a rush. There's speed, there's flying and jumping. There's acrobatics, like aerial spins and flips. There's the feel of riding the wind like a sail or soaring like a bird. As a water sport, you stay cool while playing hard and having a blast. There's nothing like it! Minnesota KICKS with action on the winds---surprisingly all year! You can ride the wind on the water or on skis or a snowboard in the snow on a frozen lake or in open fields in winter. You just need some wind for a bit o' fun.

I first mountain biked while living in Chile, South America. When I returned to Minnesota, I thought that, without mountains, there'd be no "real" mountain biking. I was very mistaken. There are great trails around the Twin Cities themselves, with obstacles and a maze of trails varying in difficulty. There are many trails around Duluth and the rest of the state as well. Check with Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists [MORC (http://www.morcmtb.org/)] about trails where you want to ride. Spin those wheels and have some fun!

Whitewater kayaking in Minnesota has been a well-kept secret. Big drops in elevation are not all that expected in prairie states. Minnesota is not mountainous, but it has some of the most exciting and intense rivers in the country. Paddlers can indulge in the extreme, or they can just get out and enjoy the camaraderie of good friends and have fun paddling. I used to dislike summer for its heat. After learning how to paddle---I grew to love summer. Whitewater paddlers never get hot when we're wet on the rivers.

Hi! My name is Jonny Voss! I have a tender spot in my heart for Minnesota sports and the fans of this great state. While I like watching the big boys (and girls) of pro sports, I'm also game for watching any sport. If you can sweat doing it, then odds are it's a sport...and I'll be there cheering 'em on along side my fellow fans.

One sport that the participants are crazier than the fans. That goes double for the bull riders, or as I like to call them, "blue jean clad projectiles". There are lots of rodeo opportunities around the state, ranging from serious no frills stuff to more of a festival-like events. If you want to rub elbows with riders, check out the one in Sherburne.

I have been driving a cab since 1977 when I moved to Minneapolis from Egypt, when the only skyscraper in downtown was the IDS. I worked as a cab driver putting myself through business school at the University of Minnesota and founded Gold Star cab company in 1994.
Having been a cab driver here for 40 years, I consider myself an expert on Twin Cities night life and have many stories to share.
The following are some of the many interesting customers and entertaining locations I have driven them to for night life in the Twin Cities.

I'm Dudley Edmondson and I'm a nature photographer, author and all around outdoor enthusiast. As a seasoned photographer, I have spent the last 17 years of my life traveling around the nation working with wild subjects in wilderness spaces in just about every habitat America has to offer. \\ When I'm not working on a photographic assignment or traveling on a speaking engagement, I spend most of my free time cycling, kayaking, skiing or trail running. I'm proud to admit that I own 4 bikes and am always looking for another one to add to my collection. \\ My most recent project is my first book: Black & Brown Faces in America's Wild Places. To complete the book I spent 4 years traveling around the nation in search of other African Americans who share my passion for the outdoors. The goal of the book is to encourage other African Americans to get out and experience nature for their own mental and physical health. If the book is successful, I hope it will encourage stewardship among people of color, which I believe is the only way to ensure sustainable conservation efforts in the United States.

I'm Ben Perecman, burger enthusiast. I suppose my fascination with hamburgers began at a young age. My grandfather owned a meat packing plant, so hamburgers were commonplace around the household. As time passed, I began exploring my innate ability to eat large quantities of food despite my small stature. I beat a former Olympic boxer in time trial burger eating, I've eaten a one-kilogram burger in the far reaches of Israel, and just for kicks I've been known to eat a six-patty burger at Wendy's from time to time. But the hunger for quantity soon gave way to a craving for quality. Minnesota is full of some of the tastiest burgers I've ever had, so I made my way across the state in search of the finest.

Hey, we're Lynn and Carol, and we've been good friends for what seems like forever! You may best describe us as a unique pair with a real flair for fun and adventure. We both work at the University of Minnesota and simply love it because it offers so much diversity and keeps us young at heart. As a matter of fact, we're twenty something gals in fifty something bodies who, when we're not doing such things as perusing thrift shops or flea markets for something unique to enhance our side jobs of personalized singing telegrams and stand up comedy, will often hop in the car in search of some of the coolest mainstreets that can be found in this great state--Minnesota!

Hi, my name is Stephen Gurewitz. Antiquing is a great hobby that gives me the chance to connect to past memories. Whether it is finding something I had as a child, or an item that my grandparents had, scouring the various shops in Minnesota is always an exciting adventure. Another great thing about going antiquing is the people. Patrons, owners, and dealers alike, all share a common interest and it's always interesting to see what other people treasure. I find that antique shops across Minnesota have good people, good selections, and a little something for everyone. My grandma once told me, "If a smile signifies happiness, a great antique will make you smile."

In Memory of C.J. Ramstad 1945-2007
Hey all, I'm C.J. Ramstad. I've written the official Snowmobile Trail Guide for the State of Minnesota for several years. I've been involved with the sport since 1969, and have traveled virtually every one of the 20,000 miles of trails in the state. I belong to a snowmobiling group called the Muddoggers, who ride together, following the snow, saddlebag style (no trucks). I've published magazines in the snowmobiling industry since 1973, and have served as editor at every existing snowmobiling publication. I have also written four books about snowmobiling. My snowmobiling travels have taken me around the world, from South America to Russia, to Iceland and Scandinavia.

Hi, my name is Wade Fischer. I have been snowboarding for 17 years and will probably continue to until I physically can't. I first started snowboarding when I was 14 and I actually built my own snowboard! I had always skateboarded and when the snow fell I needed something to do. So, I ripped some edges off of some old ski's and attached them to some wood and I was hooked ever since! I think the best part of snowboarding is just being with friends and having a good time. I know that some people can get pretty stressed out about getting the biggest trick or the most air but I think just being with friends and having a good time is what keeps me going.

My name is Caroline Ryan Gibbs and I live in Maple Grove, Minnesota with my husband and two sons. My general rule with regard to shopping is shop OFTEN. There is very little that I don't like to shop for...shoes, furniture, jewelry, home accessories, shoes and shoes. It's a chance to spend time with my sisters or girlfriends. Gifts for friends are really fun to buy. I try to match their personality and provide a personal touch to each gift selected. I love to shop at malls, but really enjoy finding a small, specialty shop or boutique not found anywhere else. Shopping is usually combined with other activities like car rides to view changing fall colors, visiting a town we haven't seen before or lunching at a favorite lakeside bistro. It all enhances the experience.
